Cheating on State Testing Programs

This is a June 25th article in Ethisphere. Detailed in the article is a tragedy of epic scale across the public schools in our nation. The International Center for AcademicIntegrity (within the Rutland Institute) celebrates its 20th year in 2012. The majority of its work has focused on “the academy” (colleges and universities), but it has also worked with high schools and some middle schools.



Meth, money and lobbying: Guess who’s the biggest spender again?

Kentucky is a state with a huge methamphetamine abuse problem. This editorial outlines how pharmaceutical companies, through their lobbying association, used their money and influence with legislators to water down laws to limit the sale of an essential drug used to make meth. How many other similar issues occur in the legislatures across the country?
