Ethics Challenges and Responses
Issue from the January 28th issue of The Chronicle of Higher Education:
“Bill of Rights Seeks to Protect Students’ Interests as Online Learning Rapidly expands”
Response from Dr. Teddi Fishman of the International Center of Academic Integrity: MOOCs raise several intriguing questions about the relationship between higher education at traditional universities and emerging, non-traditional modes of learning. They have the potential to expand access to education to those with access to the necessary technology, so more people have a wider variety of opportunities to learn. More broadly, they may force us to reexamine the role of universities, the credentials they award, and the significance of earning a diploma from a specific institution.
