>> Tuesday, February 19, 2013
As part of our tenth anniversary celebratory activities, the Rutland Institute for Ethics created the “Bringing Ethics into Focus” award. This is a call for nominations for the 2013 Award: Nominations are due by March 15, 2013.
The annual Award is presented by the Rutland Institute for Ethics at Clemson University to an individual in recognition of action and significant accomplishment that reveal commitment to ethical conduct and the value of integrity.
Nominators should submit a letter that tells “the story” of what was accomplished, including the setting in which the nominee was acting, the scope and character of the challenge(s) she/he faced, how the nominee’s action promoted the common good, and the way(s) in which the nominee demonstrated commitment to ethical conduct and the value of integrity.
David Locke, an Emeritus member of RIE’s Advisory Board (2009-2012), created the Rutland Institute for Ethics (RIE) logo and tag line: “bringing ethics into focus.” We are grateful to David and his company, Locke Design Omnimedia. The award is a handsome crystal that contains an etching of the RIE logo and tag line. A commemorative plaque is displayed at the RIE headquarters, to permanently record the names of award winners and inspire others to learn about and emulate the efforts of awardees.
