Bringing Ethics Into Focus Award

Dr. Ida Spruill

The institute’s tag line from its logo: bringing ethics into focus was the impetus for creation of a new award, which was presented for the first time at the institute’s Tenth Anniversary Gala.

Dr. Ida Spruill was selected as the recipient based upon her accomplishments in health care research resulting in dramatic health improvements in individuals and communities, primarily in the Low Country. Bob Rutland and President Barker made the presentation to Spruill, a nurse, faculty member and researcher in the College of Nursing at MUSC.
