After winning the Atlantic regional ethics bowl, Clemson’s Orange Wave is headed to Cincinnati for the nationals.  The five team members and seven assistants are currently working hard on their analysis of the 15 case studies, which raise ethical questions on a wide variety of ethical issues from industrial policy in Haiti to ethnic portrayals in old movies.  This is the first year Clemson has fielded an all female team and Coach Kelly Smith says it’s one of the best teams he has ever seen.  Keep us in your thoughts on March 3rd as we attempt to win another national title!

UPDATE

At the national competition in Cincinnati, Clemson’s team added to it’s five straight wins in the Atlantic regional with two wins over Manhattan College and DePauw and a tie against Iowa State.  This brought our record to 8 rounds of competition without a defeat.  Unfortunately, that was reversed in the first round of the quarterfinals when we suffered a narrow loss to Montana State.  This was quite disappointing, but on the positive side three of the team members are planning to return for next year, so we should have excellent prospects. Kudos to our 2010-2011 Orange Wave team members and alternates!
