The International Center for Academic Integrity

The Center for Academic Integrity has gone global and its name has changed to reflect its international reach. The new name, which was approved by Clemson’s Board of Trustees shortly in April, is “The International Center for Academic Integrity.”

Mohamed Nagib Abou-Zeid (L), professor at the American University in Cairo, recieves the Donald McCabe Award from Center Director, Dr. Teddi Fishman (R), at the 2010 ICAI Conference in Long Beach, California.

ICAI’s annual conference, Integrity in Troubled Times: Leading by Example, took place in Long Beach California, October 22-24, 2010.  The conference included six pre-conference workshops, thirty-nine concurrent sessions, and three plenary sessions.  There were nearly 200 registered participants.

Looking ahead, the 2011 conference will be held in Canada October 14-16.  The conference location, just outside the city limits of Toronto, was selected to honor the Center’s first international members. After the United States, Canada is home to the largest group of institutional members.  The 2012 conference, at which ICAI will celebrate its 20th anniversary, will be held in Princeton, New Jersey.

ICAI director Teddi Fishman and RIE director Dan Wueste along with two ICAI senior fellows, Don McCabe and Tricia Bertram Gallant, will be conducting workshops and interactive sessions on a variety of topics in a conference, Fostering Academic Integrity, at the American University in Cairo, Egypt, for AUC faculty and faculty in the region December 4-6, 2010. This is an exciting opportunity for the presenters and ICAI.
