The International Center for Academic Integrity

The Center for Academic Integrity has gone global and has a new name to reflect its international reach: “The International Center for Academic Integrity.” The Clemson University Board of Trustees approved the name change at its April 16th meeting.

CAI director Teddi Fishman was in Monterrey, Mexico earlier this month to help kick off an integrity initiative called “Sistema de Integridad Académica” at the University of Monterrey. Dr. Fishman will be one of the keynote speakers at the Fourth International Plagiarism Conference, which will take place 21-23 June 2010 at Northumbria University in the heart of Newcastle upon Tyne, United Kingdom. She will also be travelling to Israel in June to present a paper.

Looking ahead, planning is underway for the 2011 conference, which will be held in Canada to underscore CAI’s identity as an international organization. The conference location, just outside of the Toronto city limits, was chosen to honor the Center’s first international members. After the US, Canada is home to the second largest group of institutional members.
